HUBUNGAN FAKTOR SANITASI LINGKUNGAN TERHADAP KEPADATAN LALAT PADA TEMPAT PENGOLAHAN MAKANAN DI KECAMATAN INDRALAYA UTARA

Anjani, Popi - Personal Name;

Food processing establishments that do not comply with environmental sanitation standards can significantly increase fly density, thereby becoming an important risk factor for vector-borne diseases. In North Indralaya District, the high level of food trading activity driven by community demand and easy access has not been adequately balanced with proper environmental sanitation practices. This study aimed to analyze the association between environmental sanitation and fly density at food processing establishments (FPEs) in North Indralaya District. Using a quantitative cross-sectional design. A total of 118 FPEs were selected through purposive sampling, and the data were analyzed through univariate analysis, bivariate analysis using the chi-square test, and multivariate analysis using multiple logistic regression. The results showed that stall cleanliness (p-value = 0.002), waste disposal facilities (p-value = 0.002), equipment washing facilities (p-value = 0.048), and distance from pollution sources (p-value = 0.004) were significantly associated with fly density, whereas stall physical condition (p-value = 0.052), fly control facilities (p-value = 0.192), lighting (p-value = 0.773), and temperature (p-value = 0.056) were not significantly associated. Multivariate analysis identified distance from pollution sources as the most influential factor affecting fly density (PR = 12.139; p-value = 0.033; CI = 1.217–121.053). Therefore, food vendors are encouraged to improve environmental sanitation practices and enhance their knowledge of fly density standards as stipulated in Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2 of 2023, which classifies a fly density level greater than 2 as high and recommends the implementation of appropriate fly control measures to effectively reduce fly density in food processing establishments.Keywords: Fly Density, Environmental Sanitation, Traders
