KEANEKARAGAMAN SPESIES ARTHROPODA ENTOMOFAG PADA PERTANAMAN TERONG (Solanum melongena) DENGAN DAN TANPA TANAMAN KENIKIR (Cosmos caudatus)
Eggplant (Solanum melongena) is one of the horticultural crops whose productivity is often distrupted by pest attacks. This study aimed to determine the effect of planting Cosmos caudatus flowers as refugia on the abundance and diversity of entomophagous arthropods, as well as on eggplant productivity. Arthropod sampling was conducted using pitfall traps and pan traps in plost with and without refugia for 10 weeks. The data were analyzed using species diversity (H’), dominance (C), and evenness (E) indices. The results showed that plots with refugia had a higher number of entomophagous species compared to plots without refugia. The Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H’) in the refugia plots was 2.251, higher than in the non-refugia plots 2.077. the dominance index (C) was higher in the refugia plots 0.779, while the evenness index (E) was lower 0.314, indicating the presence of dominant species influencing individual distribution. Eggplant yield was also higher in the refugia plots, reaching 2,849 kg compared to 2,005 kg in the plost without refugia. These findings indicate that planting Cosmos caudatus has the potential to increase the diversity of entomophagous arthropods while simultaneously supporting sustainable improvements in eggplant productivity.
