PENGARUH VARIASI DIAMETER DAN PANJANG GESC (GEOSYNTHETIC ENCASED STONE COLUMN) TERHADAP DAYA DUKUNG TANAH GAMBUT
Peat soil has low bearing capacity characteristics, which often cause problems in construction development. This study aims to analyze the effect of variations in the length and diameter of Geosynthetic Encased Stone Column (GESC) on the improvement of peat soil bearing capacity. The research method was conducted through laboratory model testing with variations in the column length and diameter ratios, while loading was applied using a hydraulic jack. The parameters analyzed included the ultimate bearing capacity and the Bearing Capacity Ratio (BCR). The results show that the application of GESC significantly increases the soil bearing capacity compared to untreated soil and conventional stone columns, while the BCR value increases with greater column length and diameter. Therefore, the use of GESC can be considered an alternative ground improvement method for peat soil to enhance the stability of construction subgrade. Keywords: Peat soil, Geosynthetic Encased Stone Column (GESC), Bearing Capacity Ratio (BCR), soil bearing capacity, ground improvement.
