DETERMINAN UTILISASI MAHASISWA TERHADAP LAYANAN KESEHATAN MENTAL BERBASIS TELEMEDICINE DI UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
Mental health problems among university students have become an increasingly important issue, while access to mental health services remains suboptimal. On the other hand, telemedicine serves as an alternative solution for mental health services that is more accessible and flexible. This study aimed to analyze the factors influencing the utilization of telemedicine-based mental health services among students of Universitas Sriwijaya based on Andersen’s Behavioral Model. This study employed a cross-sectional design with 1,048 student respondents selected using a quota sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire covering respondents’ characteristics, health literacy, enabling factors, and mental health status measured using the DASS-21. The analyses conducted included univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analyses using logistic regression to identify the most influential variables. The results of bivariate analysis showed that gender (p = 0.018), faculty (p < 0.001), semester (p = 0.044), health literacy (p = 0.034), cellular provider (p < 0.001), type of network (p < 0.001), internet data usage (p < 0.001), barriers (p < 0.001), financial support (p = 0.002), level of depression (p < 0.001), and level of stress (p = 0.018) were significantly associated with the utilization of telemedicine services. Multivariate analysis indicated that the level of depression (AoR = 2.406) was the most dominant variable influencing telemedicine utilization. This study shows that although the majority of students at Universitas Sriwijaya utilize telemedicine services, their mental health levels are predominantly in the severe to extremely severe categories. Recommendations for Universitas Sriwijaya include prioritizing psychological support for students, developing supportive policies, and promoting telemedicine as a holistic health service.
