KOMODIFIKASI BUDAYA LOKAL DALAM WISATA TAPAH MALENGGANG MUARA BULIAN BATANGHARI JAMBI

This study is entitled The Commodification of Local Culture in Tapah Malenggang Tourism, Muara Bulian, Batanghari, Jambi. The problems examined in this study are the process of commodification of local culture in Tapah Malenggang and the forms of commodification of local culture in Tapah Malenggang. This study aims to identify and analyze the processes and forms of local cultural commodification in Tapah Malenggang. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study research strategy. This study applies Karl Marx's theory of commodification. The data in this research were obtained through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study. The results of the study show that the process of commodification of local culture in Tapah Malenggang consists of three processes, namely production, distribution, and consumption. Furthermore, the forms of commodification of local culture found in Tapah Malenggang include the transformation of use value into exchange value, fetishism, reification, and alienation.
