PROFIL CLIMATE CHANGE LITERACY PESERTA DIDIK SMP DI KOTA PALEMBANG
This study aims to determine the climate change literacy profile of junior high school students in Palembang City and the relationship between climate change literacy profiles based on gender, grade, accreditation, age, and information. This study used a quantitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through questionnaires and interviews. Sampling was conducted using multistage random sampling with a total of 667 respondents, consisting of 328 males and 339 females. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and multinomial logistic regression. The results showed that the climate change literacy profile of junior high school students in Palembang City was in the moderate category at 39.9%, indicating that students already had a basic understanding and awareness of climate change, but it was not yet deep and manifested in real behavior. This study also found a relationship between climate change literacy profiles based on gender, accreditation, and information, while age and grade were not related to climate change literacy profiles. The level of climate change literacy is not only related to the individual characteristics of students, the quality of the learning environment, and the availability of information sources. Based on these findings, it is necessary to select the appropriate learning model at each grade level to increase students' knowledge and awareness of real environmental conditions regarding climate change issues.
