GAMBARAN PENGETAHUAN SISWA TENTANG PERTOLONGAN PERTAMA PADA CEDERA DI SMAN 10 PALEMBANG
The incidence of injuries in children and adolescents is still a health problem that occurs worldwide. The high incidence of injuries shows the importance of knowledge about first aid, especially in high school students as an age group that is prone to injury. This study aimed to find out the overview of students' knowledge about first aid to injuries in Senior High Schools. This study used a quantitative approach with a statistical descriptive design to describe students’ knowledge. The population in this study was all students totaling 1,518 people. The number of the research sample was 349 respondents selected using Stratified Random Sampling. The data analysis was carried out univariately to see the distribution of the frequency of respondents' knowledge. The results of the study showed that the students' knowledge of first aid to injuries at SMAN 10 Palembang was obtained with a knowledge score of 61.03 with a standard deviation of 9.293. The maximum score was 73 and the minimum score was 42. From the results of this study, it was found that most students still have a lack of knowledge about the first aid for injuries. The variation in respondents' understanding shows the need to improve education and first aid training in the school environment to improve preparedness in dealing with injury incidents.
