ANALISIS KARAKTERISTIK SIFAT FISIK MEDIA TANAM PADA PERTUMBUHAN PAKCOY (Brassica rapa L.) DI SISTEM RAKIT APUNG BERBASIS ARDUINO UNO R3

Suboptimal land in South Sumatra has great potential for agricultural development, but its utilization is still constrained by water management and soil fertility, so adaptive cultivation technology is needed. The Arduino Uno R3 based floating raft system is an alternative cultivation that is able to maintain the stability of the growing environment by monitoring the temperature and humidity of the planting medium. This study aims to analyze the effect of variations in planting media on the physical properties of the media as well as the growth and productivity of pak choy (Brassica rapa L.) plants in the Arduino Uno R3 based floating raft system. The study used a Randomized Block Design with four planting media treatments and four replications, resulting in 16 experimental units. The treatments consisted of P0 (100% ultisol soil), P1 (33.33% rice husk charcoal + 33.33% soil + 33.33% manure), P2 (25% rice husk charcoal + 25% soil + 50% manure), and P3 (25% rice husk charcoal + 50% soil + 25% manure). Observation parameters included temperature, humidity, and media pH, media physical properties (water content, bulk density, porosity, hydraulic conductivity), and plant productivity (plant height, number of leaves, root length, fresh weight, and dry weight). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and 5% LSD test. The results showed that variations in planting media affected the physical properties of the media, growth, and productivity of pak choy plants in the Arduino Uno R3-based floating raft system. P3 produced the best physical media characteristics with a water content of 68.86%, a bulk density of 0.51 g/cm³, a porosity of 58%, and a hydraulic conductivity of 1.68 cm/min. This treatment also showed the most optimal plant growth and productivity with 19.5 leaves, 25.5 cm root length, 91.3 g fresh weight, and 38.4 g dry weight. These conditions support the application of the Arduino Uno R3-based floating raft system in providing a suitable growing environment for pak choy plants.
