RESPON PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL TANAMAN SELADA (Lactuca Sativa var. Grand Rapids) DENGAN BERBAGAI MODEL RAKIT PADA SISTEM BUDIDAYA TERAPUNG
This study aims to determine the most effective raft model to support the growth and production of Grand Rapids variety lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) in a floating cultivation system in non-tidal swamplands. The research was conducted using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with four raft model treatments: bamboo raft (R1), gallon raft (R2), mineral water bottle raft (R3), and organic swamp plant raft (R4), repeated three times. The results showed that different raft types had a significant effect on morphological growth parameters and crop biomass yield. The gallon raft treatment (R2) consistently provided the best results across all observed parameters, achieving a canopy area of 882.82 cm², root length of 26.71 cm, and the highest plant fresh weight reaching 79.17 g. Conversely, the use of organic rafts (R4) resulted in the lowest growth with an average fresh weight of only 6.79 g and showed symptoms of stunting due to limited planting media depth and aeration disturbances, despite recording the highest leaf greenness (SPAD) value (30.46) due to the chlorophyll concentration effect. The conclusion is that the raft made from waste gallons is the most effective model and is recommended for floating lettuce cultivation because it has high stability that supports root development and photosynthesis optimization.
