PENGARUH APLIKASI BERBAGAI KONSENTRASI BENZYLAMINOPURINE TERHADAP EKSPLAN DAUN DURIAN (Durio zibethinus Murr.) PADA MEDIAMURASHIGE DAN SKOOG
Durian (Durio zibethinus Murr.) represents a valuable agricultural product. Nonetheless, the ability to produce high-quality seedlings is constrained due to the limitations of traditional propagation techniques. The effectiveness of tissue culture is significantly affected by the type of culture medium used and the levels of plant growth regulators. While Benzylaminopurine has been shown to encourage cell division and callus formation in various Durio species, research specifically focused on how different concentrations of BAP impact durian leaf explants in MS medium is still scarce, which means the ideal concentration has yet to be determined. This research aimed to assess how different levels of BAP influence the growth of durian leaf explants in MS medium. The experimental design employed was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) wich six concentrations of BAP (0 mg/l, 0,5 mg/l, 1 mg/l, 1,5 mg/l, 2 mg/l, and 2,5 mg/l) with three repetitions. The findings indicated that treatments B3 and B4 produced the highest average number of viable explants in comparison to the control and other concentrations, suggesting that BAP concentration of 0,5 ppm was more effective in inducing callus. While moderate a BAP concentration of 1,5 ppm was more effective in supporting of durian leaf explants.
