PENGARUH PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN DEEP LEARNING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN HIGHER ORDER THINKING SKILLS SISWA DI SMP ISLAM AZ-ZAHRAH 2 PALEMBANG
This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Deep Learning approach on students’ Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in Pancasila Education at SMP Islam Az-Zahrah 2 Palembang. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of two classes, namely class VIII “Sunan Giri” as the experimental class that received instruction using the Deep Learning approach and class VIII “Sunan Drajat” as the control class that received conventional learning, with a total sample of 50 students. Data were collected through documentation and tests, while data analysis techniques included normality, linearity, and homogeneity tests. The results showed a significant difference in students’ HOTS between the experimental class and the control class. The mean post-test score of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class, and the hypothesis testing results indicated a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) < 0.05. These findings indicate that the Deep Learning approach has a significant effect on improving students’ Higher Order Thinking Skills. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Deep Learning approach is effective in enhancing students’ higher-order thinking skills in Pancasila Education learning.
