This study aims to identify and analyze local wisdom values in South Sumatran folktales and explain their implications for Indonesian language learning. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques consisting of literature review and documentation. The research data consists of excerpts from 22 South Sumatran folktales, which were analyzed using content analysis techniques. These values are reflected through the characters, plot, and conflicts in the stories, which can serve as guidelines for social life. Furthermore, the results also indicate that local wisdom values in folktales have significant implications for Indonesian language learning, particularly in increasing reading interest, strengthening student character, and fostering awareness of the importance of preserving local culture.
