This study aims to determine the role of self-acceptance in the fear of negative evaluation among Generation Z Instagram users. The hypothesis of this study is that self-acceptance plays a role in the fear of negative evaluation. The participants in this study were 240 Generation Z Instagram users. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling. The measurement tools used in this study were the fear of negative evaluation scale, which the researcher modified from the standard scale by Watson and Friend (1969), and the self-acceptance scale, which referred to the characteristics of self-acceptance by Spivack (1956). Data analysis was performed using simple linear regression techniques. The results of the analysis showed an R square value of 0,227, an F value of 70,045, and a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.005). The effective contribution of self-acceptance to fear of negative evaluation was 22,7%. This shows that self-acceptance has a significant role in fear of negative evaluation. Thus, the hypothesis proposed in this study is accepted.
