ANALISIS FAKTOR RISIKO TERHADAP PREVALENSI HIPERTENSI DI KABUPATEN LAHAT TAHUN 2024

Rahma, Nurul - Personal Name;

Hypertension is one of the non-communicable diseases with a continuously increasing burden at both global and national levels. In South Sumatra Province, cases rose from 987 thousand in 2021 to 1.95 million in 2023. In Lahat Regency, the number of cases fluctuated from 86 thousand in 2020, decreased to 14.9 thousand in 2021, and then increased to 87.19 thousand in 2023. This study aimed to analyze the association between risk factors and hypertension prevalence in Lahat Regency in 2024 using an ecological (analytic observational) study design based on secondary data from the Central Bureau of Statistics, the District Health Office, and the Regional Government Geoportal. The unit of analysis comprised all sub-districts in Lahat Regency (n = 24). Bivariate analysis using Pearson or Spearman correlation tests and One-Way ANOVA indicated that the number of health facilities was significantly associated with hypertension prevalence (r = 0.428; p-value = 0.037). Multivariate analysis using multiple linear regression with the backward elimination method showed that access to improved drinking water (p-value = 0.019) was the most significant factor, contributing 22.6% to the variation in hypertension prevalence across sub-districts. In conclusion, the variation in hypertension prevalence in Lahat Regency is influenced by area-level factors, with access to improved drinking water emerging as the most contributory variable in the final model.
