PENGEMBANGAN MULTIMEDIA INTERAKTIF PADA MATERI LAJU REAKSI UNTUK MELATIH KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR TINGKAT TINGGI (HOTS) PADA SISWA SMA KELAS XI

Anistasya, Anistasya  - Personal Name;

The demands of 21st-century learning emphasize the strengthening of higher-order thinking skills (HOTS), particularly in abstract chemistry topics such as reaction rates, while interactive learning media capable of optimally training students’ HOTS remain limited. This study aimed to develop interactive multimedia on reaction rate material to enhance the Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) of eleventh-grade high school students. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the Alessi and Trollip development model, which consists of three main stages: planning, design, and development. The research subjects comprised 65 eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Selan. The validation results showed that the interactive multimedia was highly valid, with scores of 97.1% (media), 93.3% (material), 84.6% (language), and 97.5% (instructional design), yielding an average validity of 94.75% (very valid). The practicality test indicated that the product was very practical, scoring 93.33% in the one-to-one stage and 98.33% in the small-group stage. Its effectiveness was demonstrated by an N-gain of 0.60 (moderate) and an increase in HOTS achievement from 50.60% (very low) in the pretest to 80.43% (high) in the posttest. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the developed interactive multimedia on reaction rate material is valid, practical, and effective, and is therefore appropriate for training the higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) of eleventh-grade high school students.
