PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL BAWANG MERAH VARIETAS BIMA BREBES TERHADAP PEMBERIAN PUPUK K₂SO₄ DENGAN BUDIDAYA SISTEM TERAPUNG MENGGUNAKAN RAKIT BAMBU.
Shallots (Alium ascalonicum L.) are a horticultural commodity classified as spice vegetables. This study aims to determine the effect of K₂SO₄ fertilizer on the growth and yield of shallots of the Bima Brebes variety floating. This study was conducted at the Embung Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, North Indralaya, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra with coordinates 003°13’16” South Latitude and 104°39’03” East Longitude from June to August 2025. The study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 4 treatment levels and 3 replications, each treatment level consisting of 12 plants. Various doses of K₂SO₄ fertilizer used in this study were P0 = Control (Without K₂SO₄ fertilizer), P1 = 0.12 g/polybag, P₂ = 0.24 g/polybag, P3 = 0.36 g/polybag. The application of various doses of K₂SO₄ fertilizer gave significant results on the parameters of leaf greenness levels in weeks 5, 6, and 7 in the P₂ treatment, namely at 5 WAP of 21.53 while the lowest average leaf greenness level was found in the P0 treatment, namely 14.56 at 2 WAP. and leaf age. The longest average leaf fall period was obtained in the P₂ treatment, namely for 34.00 days with the fastest average leaf fall period being found in the P0 treatment, namely for 27.33 days. The administration of various doses of K₂SO₄ fertilizer on tuber parameters showed no significant effect, which indicates that K₂SO₄ fertilizer treatment did not provide a significant difference in the formation and development of shallot bulbs in the floating cultivation system.
