Triple elimination is a preventive effort aimed at preventing the transmission of HIV/AIDS, hepatitis B, and syphilis from mother to child. The behavior of undergoing triple elimination screening among pregnant women can be influenced by several factors, one of which is maternal intention. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between maternal intention and triple elimination screening behavior among pregnant women at Gandus Public Health Center, Palembang. This study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 106 mothers who were pregnant and mothers with infants aged less than three months. Data were analyzed using bivariate and multivariate analysis. The results showed that the majority of mothers had undergone triple elimination screening (88%), while 57 mothers (53.8%) had negative intentions. Bivariate analysis indicated a significant relationship between maternal intention and triple elimination screening behavior (p-value = 0.025; OR = 3.663). Mothers with positive intentions were 3.663 times more likely to undergo triple elimination screening compared to those with negative intentions. In multivariate analysis, maternal intention was not statistically significant but had the highest odds ratio (OR = 3.158), indicating that it was the most dominant variable after controlling for age, education, family income, parity, and maternal occupation. Strengthening health promotion through comprehensive information is necessary to increase positive intentions among pregnant women and improve triple elimination screening behavior.
