PEMANFAATAN LINKEDIN SEBAGAI MEDIA KOMUNIKASI DALAM MEMBANGUN PERSONAL BRANDING PADA ALUMNI MAHASISWA BERPRESTASI UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
This study aims to understand how outstanding alumni of Sriwijaya University build personal branding through the LinkedIn platform and its implications for professional career opportunities. This study used a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews with four informants selected based on specific criteria. The research analysis is based on the theory of The Eight Laws of Personal Branding proposed by Peter Montoya (2002). The results indicate that LinkedIn is strategically utilized as a medium for building a professional image by emphasizing specialization, leadership, goodwill, personality, unity of values, visibility, persistence, and distinctiveness. The personal branding developed focuses not only on achievements but also on consistent behavior, communication ethics, and contributions to the professional community. These findings demonstrate that authentic, consistent, and sustainable personal branding can increase professional visibility and expand networking and career opportunities. This research is expected to contribute to the study of digital communication and serve as a practical reference for students and young professionals in optimally utilizing LinkedIn.
