KEPEMIMPINAN BUPATI MAWARDI YAHYA DALAM PEMBANGUNAN INFRASTRUKTUR DI KABUPATEN OGAN ILIR SUMATERA SELATAN TAHUN 2005-2015

This research is entitled The Leadership of Regent Mawardi Yahya in Infrastructure Development in Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, 2005–2015. The study examines the dynamics of infrastructure development that took place during the leadership of Regent Mawardi Yahya. The objective of this research is to identify and analyze the infrastructure development carried out during Mawardi Yahya’s administration. The research employs historical methods, including heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography, to produce an accurate reconstruction of events. The findings indicate that during the 2005–2010 period, the leadership focused on establishing governmental foundations through the formation of bureaucratic structures, the issuance of regional regulations, and the strengthening of institutional and fiscal systems. In the 2011–2015 period, the focus shifted toward physical development, including the construction of Tanjung Senai Regional General Hospital (RSUD), the Tanjung Senai Integrated Office Complex, An-Nur Grand Mosque, the Sungai Rambutan Integrated Independent City, as well as road networks and inter-regional connecting bridges. These developments enhanced mobility, access to public services, regional connectivity, and economic growth, reflecting Mawardi Yahya’s visionary and effective leadership, which earned him the title of the “Father of Development” of Ogan Ilir Regency.
