SEBARAN pH TANAH DAN KEJENUHAN ALUMINIUM SERTA PENGARUHNYA TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN TANAMAN Acacia crassicarpa PADA LAHAN GAMBUT DI KECAMATAN AIR SUGIHAN, OGAN KOMERING ILIR

Raihan, Muhamad - Personal Name;

Peat soil has unique chemical properties such as low pH, high aluminum content, and low nutrient content, which often hinders plant cultivation. This condition increases soil acidity and reduces the availability of nutrients needed for optimal plant growth. One of the plants widely cultivated on peatlands is Acacia crassicarpa due to its high adaptability and tolerance to extreme environmental conditions. However, high aluminum content and low soil pH can still inhibit plant growth and reduce productivity. This research was conducted in the peatlands of PT. Bumi Andalas Permai, Air Sugihan District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, with the aim of determining the distribution of soil pH and aluminum saturation and analyzing their effects on the growth of Acacia crassicarpa plants. The method used in this research was a semi-detailed survey. The results showed variations in the distribution of pH and aluminum saturation at each different location. The results of the regression test showed a significant effect of pH on Acacia crassicarpa plant growth of 58.36%, and aluminum saturation on Acacia crassicarpa plant growth of 32.49%. From this study, it can be concluded that the lower the pH value, the lower the plant growth. The higher the aluminum saturation, the lower the growth of Acacia crassicarpa plants.
