PENGARUH EFFECTIVE MICROORGANISMS-4 TERHADAP PROFIL PUPUK ORGANIK CAIR ASAL EFLUEN DIGESTER BIOGAS

Arsudi, Rahmat Herman - Personal Name;

This study aims to process biogas digester effluent into high-quality liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) through the addition of Effective Microorganisms-4, by assessing changes in its physical and chemical properties as well as its compliance with liquid organic fertilizer quality standards. The study was conducted from October to December 2025 using an experimental method with two treatments: a control without the addition of Effective Microorganisms-4 and a treatment with EM4, each with 10 replicates. The observed parameters included color, aroma, texture, pH, nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), organic carbon, and the C/N ratio. The results showed that the addition of EM4 improved the physical profile of the liquid organic fertilizer, characterized by a color turning dark brown, an aroma becoming sweeter and less pungent, and a more homogeneous and stable texture. Chemically, the EM4 treatment resulted in a pH of 7, nitrogen 1.18, phosphorus 1.60, potassium 1.38, organic carbon 18.30, and a C/N ratio of 15.50. Meanwhile, the control had a pH of 6, nitrogen 0.61, phosphorus 1.76, potassium 1.45, organic C 15.93, and a C/N ratio of 26.11. These data indicate that EM4 increases pH, nitrogen, and organic carbon, and reduces the C/N ratio in a positive direction. Based on descriptive data analysis, the EM4 treatment accelerates the decomposition of organic matter and enhances POC maturity. The pH, organic carbon, and C/N ratio values in the treatment met SNI standards, whereas the nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium levels still did not. Keywords: Effective Microorganisms -4, Biogas Effluent, Cow Feces, Liquid Organic Fertilizer.
