ANALISIS REGRESI LOGISTIK BINER PADA PERILAKU PENGGUNAAN GAWAI TERHADAP PRESTASI AKADEMIK SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR NEGERI TANJUNG KURUNG

Nislandra, Isma - Personal Name;

The development of digital technology has led to an increase in the use of gadgets among elementary school students, including in areas with limited infrastructure and access to technology, which has the potential to affect academic achievement. Uncontrolled use of gadgets can have an impact on students’ concentration and learning habits. This study aims to analyze the effect of device usage behavior on the academic achievement of students at Tanjung Kurung Public Elementary School using a binary logistic regression approach. The data were obtained from 51 students in grades fourth, fifth, and sixth using questionnaires and documentation of report card scores for the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. The independent variables included duration, frequency, purpose, time of use, type of content, parental supervision, internet availability, device ownership, and concentration distractions. The resulting binary logistic regression model shows that the variables of type of content accessed, parental supervision, and internet availability at home had a significant partial effect on students' academic achievement. These three variables have a negative relationship with the probability of students entering the top 10 rankings. The model is able to explain 53.1% of the variation in academic achievement based on device usage behavior with a classification accuracy rate of 86.27%. Based on the research findings, students’ use of electronic devices needs to be better guided particularly regarding the types of content they access, parental supervision, and internet use at home in order to support improvements in their academic performance. Keywords: Gadget Usage Behavior, Academic Achievement, Binary Logistic Regression
