ANALISIS DAMPAK JENIS MATERIAL DAN KEMIRINGAN LERENG TERHADAP LAJU EROSI PADA AREA DISPOSAL DI PT PRIAMANAYA ENERGI KABUPATEN LAHAT SUMATERA SELATAN

PT Priamanaya Energi is a coal mining company in South Sumatra Province that operates a disposal area spanning approximately 105 hectares. Most of this area consists of active disposal sites that lack adequate vegetation cover, making them vulnerable to erosion. High sedimentation levels in the North Settling Pond (KPL) and soil material carried by surface runoff out of the disposal area indicate that the erosion occurring is quite significant. This study aims to identify the types of overburden materials, analyze erosion rates under both planned and existing disposal conditions, assess the influence of slope gradient on erosion rates, and provide erosion control recommendations using the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) method. The research results show that the overburden material is dominated by sand. Based on the geological mapping results, the percentage of sandstone is 48%, while based on borehole log data, it is 40.44%. Under the disposal planning conditions with a 30° slope, an erosion rate of 260,534.19 BCM/year was obtained, whereas under the existing conditions with a 22° slope, an erosion rate of 147,235 BCM/year was obtained. Reducing the slope from the planned condition to the existing condition reduces the erosion rate by 113,299 BCM/year, or approximately 43.5%. Furthermore, an analysis of the effects of various slope gradients indicates that every 5° reduction in slope can reduce the average erosion rate by approximately ± 43.6%. The recommended reduction of the slope from 22° to 20° can reduce the erosion rate to 133,607 BCM/year, representing a 9.3% decrease from the current conditions. Furthermore, the implementation of revegetation with a C factor of 0.30 results in a more significant reduction in the erosion rate, namely to 40,081.97 BCM/year at a 20° slope, 44,170.42 BCM/year at a 22° slope, and 78,160.26 BCM/year at a 30° slope.
