EVALUASI PERTUMBUHAN DAN POTENSI HASIL PADI GENOTIPE T3 DAN TR3 DI LAHAN RAWA LEBAK TENGAHAN DESA AWAL TERUSAN
Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a major staple crop in Indonesia which productivity is often constrained by sub-optimal land conditions, particularly swamp land areas. This study was aimed to evaluate the growth and yield potential of T3 and TR3 genotypes derived from the cross between Inpara 8 and Inpago 5 under middle swamp land condition. The research was conducted in Awal Terusan Village, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, from May to September 2025 using a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with five genotypes T3, TR3, Inpara 8, Inpago 5, and Inpari 32 with three replications. Observed parameters included plant height, number of tillers, days to flowering, number of productive tillers, panicle length, number of grains per panicle, percentage of empty grains, 100-grain weight, grain length and width, harvest index, productivity, and lodging percentage. Analysis of variance showed significant to highly significant differences among genotypes for most growth and yield components, except grain weight per clump and lodging percentage. The T3 and TR3 genotypes exhibited superior plant height and panicle length compared to Inpara 8, Inpago 5, Inpari 32 however, their productivity and harvest index were lower than those of Inpari 32. These results indicate that T3 and TR3 genotypes have potential for further development through advanced selection and multi-location testing under swamp land condition Keywords : genotypes, plant breeding, rice, swamp land, yield potential
