MODEL Q INVENTORI BERAS DENGAN BACKORDER PADA PERUM BULOG DIVRE SUMSEL BABEL
This study discusses rice inventory management issues at Perum Bulog Divre Sumsel Babel by applying the Q-backorder probabilistic inventory model. The objectives of this study are to determine the optimal order quantity, total inventory cost, and service level for two types of rice, namely PSO and KOM. The study uses secondary data from the 2020-2024 period, with a focus on calculations for 2022-2024. The optimal order quantity of rice is determined using the Hadley-Within iterative method. The results show that for PSO rice, the optimal order quantity is 662,167 kg with a reorder point of 405,026 kg and a safety stock of 394,344 kg, resulting in a total annual inventory cost of IDR 36,171,011,220. The service level for PSO rice is 85%, which indicates a good service capacity in meeting consumer demand. For KOM rice, the optimal order size is 258,598 kg with a reorder point of 78,943 kg and a safety stock of 77,784 kg with total inventory costs IDR 6,512,334,176. The level of service provided is only 14% which indicates the low effectiveness of the model for this type of rice. It can be concluded that the Q-backorder model is effective when applied to PSO rice but is less suitable for KOM rice.
