HUBUNGAN ANTARA LAMA PEMBERIAN DOCETAXEL DAN STENOSIS PUNCTUM LAKRIMAL YANG DIPERIKSA MENGGUNAKAN ANTERIOR SEGMENT OPTICAL COHERENCE TOMOGRAPHY PADA PASIEN KANKER NASOFARING
Background: Docetaxel is a chemotherapy drug used to inhibit cell cleavage in nasopharyngeal cancer. Canalicular and ductal stenosis is a common side effect of weekly docetaxel therapy, which often causes epiphora. This study aimed to analyze the correlation between the duration of docetaxel chemotherapy and lacrimal punctum stenosis in patients with nasopharyngeal cancer. Methods: This descriptive study used a case series design at the Eye Clinic of Dr. Moh. Hoesin Hospital, Palembang, from October 2024 to May 2025. Lacrimal punctum stenosis was assessed using Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). The data obtained were then analyzed using the Spearman Rho's test using SPPS version 26.0. Results: This study found that the duration of docetaxel use had a very strong negative correlation with the diameter of the external lacrimal punctum (r = -0.888; p = 0.000) and internal lacrimal punctum (r = -0.838; p = 0.000), and a moderate negative correlation with the length of the vertical canaliculus (r = -0.432; p = 0.017). Conclusion: An additional week of docetaxel therapy narrowed the diameter of the external and internal lacrimal punctum and shortened the length of the vertical canaliculus by 26.033 μm, 14.456 μm, and 19.822 μm, respectively.
