MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN KEAKSARAAN ANAK USIA 5-6 TAHUN MELALUI MEDIA PUZZEL HURUF DI TK KARTIKA II-1 PALEMBANG
The development of early literacy in children aged 5–6 years is an important stage in building the foundation of reading and writing skills. At this age, children begin to recognize alphabet letters, understand the relationship between sounds and letter symbols, read simple words, and write their own names. This study aims to improve children's early literacy skills through the use of letter puzzle media. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The results of the initial observation showed that some children were still in the “beginning to develop” category, while others had reached the “developing as expected” and “very well developed” categories. After the implementation of the first cycle, there was an improvement in children's literacy skills; however, the results had not yet met the predetermined success indicators, so the research was continued to the second cycle. The results of the second cycle showed a more significant improvement, where most children reached the “developing as expected” and “very well developed” categories. Therefore, letter puzzle media is proven to be effective as an innovative learning strategy to improve early literacy skills of young children at TK Kartika II-1 Palembang.
