PENGARUH PEMBELAJARAN BERBANTUAN SYMBOLAB DENGAN KONTEKS NUTRISI MAKANAN TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR ALJABAR SISWA SMP PADA MATERI SPLDV

This research aims to determine whether Symbolab-assisted learning with a nutritional food context has a significant effect on students’ algebraic thinking ability on the topic of Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV). The method used in this study was a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of two ninth-grade classes at SMP Negeri 6 Indralaya Utara in the 2025/2026 academic year. The experimental class was taught using Symbolab- assisted learning with a nutritional food context, while the control class received conventional learning. The research instrument was an essay test designed to measure students’ algebraic thinking ability based on Kieran’s indicators, which include Generational, Transformational, and Meta-global level abilities. The results showed that the average score of students’ algebraic thinking ability in the experimental class was higher than that of the control class. The normality and homogeneity tests indicated that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The two-tailed Independent t-test showed a significance value of sig. (
