TANTANGAN DAN PELUANG KEBIJAKAN EUROPEAN UNION DEFORESTATION REGULATION (EUDR) TERHADAP UPAYA KEBERLANJUTAN PRODUKSI KARET ALAM DI DESA LALANG SEMBAWA KABUPATEN BANYUASIN
The European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) regulates the trade of deforestation-risk commodities, including rubber, by requiring deforestation-free production, legal compliance, and supply chain traceability. This policy affects Indonesia’s smallholder rubber supply chain, including farmers and the Rubber Processing and Marketing Unit (UPPB) in Lalang Sembawa Village, Banyuasin Regency. This study aims to analyze the content and scope of the EUDR, assess the readiness of rubber farmers, UPPB Maju Bersama, and exporters, and formulate development strategies to support adaptation to EUDR requirements.A descriptive method with qualitative and quantitative approaches was employed using interviews, questionnaires, and document analysis. The results show that farmers are ready in EUDR understanding (average total score 14.48) and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) (average total score 15.05), while land legality and traceability remain moderately ready (average total score 12.15) due to uneven geolocation coverage and inconsistent recordkeeping. UPPB Maju Bersama demonstrates relatively good initial institutional readiness, while the exporter has begun implementing due diligence practices. SWOT results place the adaptation strategy in Quadrant I (S–O Strategy), indicating that internal strengths should be leveraged to seize external opportunities such as assistance programs, GPS-based mapping technologies, rising demand for sustainable rubber, and potential access to premium markets.
