This study is motivated by the low adoption of agricultural machinery in rice farming, particularly in lebak swamp areas, even though mechanization such as rice transplanters has been proven to improve efficiency and reduce labor costs. The objectives of this study are (1) to identify the factors influencing farmers’ decisions to use rice transplanters, (2) to analyze the differences in income between farmers who use rice transplanters and those who do not, and (3) to identify the constraints in their utilization. This research was conducted in Sungai Pinang Village, Rambutan District, Musi Banyuasin Regency in October 2025. using a survey method. The data consisted of primary and secondary data, with respondents comprising both users and non-users of rice transplanters selected through disproportionate stratified random sampling. Data analysis was performed using binary logistic regression to identify the factors affecting farmers’ decisions, and independent sample t-test to analyze income differences. The results show that labor costs, land area, age, income, and land ownership status significantly influence farmers’ decisions to adopt rice transplanters . Furthermore, there is a significant difference in income between the two groups, where farmers using rice transplanters earn higher income than those using manual methods . The main constraints faced include uneven land conditions, frequent machine breakdowns, and high water fluctuations in lebak swamp areas.
