ANALISIS PENGGUNAAN LOW-IRON GLASS DAN TEMPERED GLASS SEBAGAI PELINDUNG PANEL SURYA TERHADAP DAYA KELUARAN SOLAR CELLS JENIS MONOCRYSTALLINE 50 WP
Solar energy is one of the renewable energy sources that has great potential to be developed in Indonesia. The performance of solar panels is influenced by several factors, such as solar irradiance, panel temperature, and the protective material used. This study aims to analyze the effect of using low-iron glass and tempered glass as additional protective materials for solar panels on the output power of monocrystalline 50 Wp solar cells. The testing was conducted using three panel conditions, namely a panel without additional protection, a panel with low-iron glass protection, and a panel with tempered glass protection. The protective materials used had a thickness of 5 mm and were installed at a distance of 30 cm from the panel surface. Data collection was carried out for 10 days from 09.00 WIB to 16.00 WIB with a measurement interval of one hour. The measured parameters included solar irradiance, voltage, current, and panel temperature, while the output power was calculated using the active power equation with a power factor value of one. The results showed that the highest output power occurred at 12.00 WIB. The panel with low-iron glass protection produced the highest power of 27.86 W, followed by the panel without additional protection at 27.17 W, and the panel with tempered glass protection at 26.58 W. These results indicate that low-iron glass is more optimal as a solar panel protective material because it has better light transmittance, resulting in higher output power compared to tempered glass and the panel without additional protection.
