This study aimed to analyze the relationship between vegetation canopy density and water management as indicators of reclamation success in a 26.09-ha post-mining area. Vegetation density was analyzed using the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), while water management conditions were assessed through infiltration rate, runoff coefficient, runoff discharge, and actual erosion rate. The results showed that the study area was dominated by NDVI Class 5, indicating high vegetation canopy density. An increase in NDVI values tended to enhance infiltration while reducing runoff and erosion. In addition, the existing drainage channels were still capable of accommodating the generated runoff discharge. The vegetation canopy cover reached 79%, indicating that the reclamation area has developed well and is approaching the reclamation success criterion established in the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources No. 344.K/MB.01/MEM.B/2025, which requires vegetation canopy cover of more than 90%.
