EFEKTIVITAS PENAMBAHAN RESVERATROL TERHADAP KADAR TRANSFORMING GROWTH FACTOR- SERUM, ALBUMINURIA, DAN LAJU FILTRASI GLOMERULUS PADA PASIEN PENYAKIT GINJAL DIABETIK
Background: Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is driven by oxidative stress, inflammation, and profibrotic signaling, with transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) as a key mediator. This trial assessed whether adjunct resveratrol improves serum TGF-β, albuminuria, and glomerular filtration rate (GFR) in adults with DKD. Methods: In a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial (October 2025–Januari 2026) at Mohammad Hoesin Hospital, Palembang, 61 participants were randomized; 54 completed analyses (resveratrol n=27; placebo n=27). The treatment group received resveratrol 25 mg (derived from Polygonum cuspidatum in 95% lecithin) twice daily for 12 weeks, while the control group received a placebo.. Serum TGF-β, urinary albumin-to- creatinine ratio (UACR), and estimated GFR were measured at baseline and week 12. Between-group differences in change were analyzed, and multivariable linear regression was used to identify independent predictors of UACR change. Results: Serum TGF-β decreased significantly within the resveratrol group (p=0.008) but not within placebo (p=0.428); however, the between-group difference in TGF-β change was not significant (p=0.303). UACR decreased in the resveratrol group (p=0.017) and increased in placebo (p=0.029), with a significant between-group difference in UACR change (p
