PENGARUH PRODUK DOMESTIK BRUTO, KONSUMSI ENERGI FOSIL DAN POPULASI PERKOTAAN TERHADAP EMISI KARBON DIOKSIDA DI 9 NEGARA ANGGOTA BRICS+
This study aims to analyze the effects of gross domestic product (GDP) per capita, fossil fuel consumption, and urban population on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in nine BRICS+ countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Indonesia) for the 2000-2024 period using secondary data sourced from the World Development Indicators and Our World in Data. The analysis technique utilizes panel data regression with the Fixed Effect Model Cross Section Weight. The simultaneous test results show that GDP per capita, fossil fuel consumption, and urban population jointly have a significant effect on CO2 emissions. Partially, GDP per capita has an insignificant effect on CO2 emissions, indicating an early signal of a transition toward green growth. Conversely, fossil fuel consumption and urban population are proven to have a significant and positive effect as the primary drivers of the surge in emissions.
