ANALISIS EFISIENSI TEKNIS KELAPA SAWIT PADA LIMA PROVINSI PENGHASIL UTAMA DI INDONESIA
Palm oil is one of the strategic plantation commodities that plays an important role in the Indonesian economy through its contribution to production, exports, and regional income. This study aims to analyze the technical efficiency of palm oil production in the five major producing provinces in Indonesia, namely Riau, Central Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, North Sumatra, and South Sumatra during the period 2015–2024. The study uses secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). The analytical method employed is Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) with a Cobb-Douglas production function estimated using the Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) approach. The results indicate that land area has a positive and significant effect on palm oil production, while fertilizer use has a negative and significant effect on production. The technical efficiency analysis reveals that palm oil production in the five major producing provinces has achieved a relatively high level of technical efficiency, although it has not yet reached full efficiency. Optimizing the use of production factors and improving plantation management are highly necessary to enhance the technical efficiency and productivity of palm oil production in a sustainable manner. Keywords: Technical Efficiency, Palm Oil, Stochastic Frontier Analysis, Maximum Likelihood Estimation( MLE), Indonesia.
