PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN FLASHCARD BERBASIS AUGMENTED REALITY (AR) PADA MATERI ENERGI TERBARUKAN UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA SMP
This study successfully developed an Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning tool in the form of flashcards for renewable energy topics in junior high school. The study was motivated by challenges in science education, particularly regarding renewable energy topics, as well as the need to enhance critical thinking skills as a 21st-century competency. A needs analysis conducted on 53 ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya revealed that 83% of the students had never used AR-based flashcards in their learning and expressed a high interest in using such media. The development process utilized the Rowntree model, comprising planning, development, and evaluation. The evaluation phase was conducted using Tessmer’s formative assessment. The research results showed that the validity of the media was 80%, the content 100%, critical thinking skills 100%, and the AR design 91.67%, all categorized as highly valid. The practicality score in the one-to-one evaluation stage was 99.07%, categorized as highly practical, and in the small group evaluation stage, it was 98.61%, also categorized as highly practical. The results of the field test indicate an improvement in students’ critical thinking skills, with an average N-Gain score of 0.79, falling into the high and moderate categories across five indicators. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the Augmented Reality (AR)-based flashcard learning medium developed in this study is valid, practical, and effective in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills.
