ANALISIS KONSENTRASI KLOROFIL-A MENGGUNAKAN CTD RINKO PROFILER DAN METODE LABORATORIUM DI PERAIRAN MUARA SUNGAI MUSI, SUMATERA SELATAN
The Musi River estuary waters are a fertile area located in Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra, representing the confluence between the Musi River and the marine waters of the Bangka Strait. One of the important biological components in aquatic environments is phytoplankton, whose presence can be indicated by chlorophyll-a concentration as a biomass indicator. Chlorophyll-a is a pigment commonly found in phytoplankton and other photosynthetic organisms. This study aims to analyze the distribution of chlorophyll-a concentration using CTD measurements and laboratory methods, as well as to examine the relationship between chlorophyll-a concentrations in the Musi River estuary waters, South Sumatra. Water parameters were measured using a CTD Rinko Profiler, and water samples were collected for chlorophyll-a analysis in the laboratory. The results showed that, in general, chlorophyll-a concentration was lower near the sea and increased toward the upstream area, with a vertical pattern that decreased and then increased again near the bottom (deep chlorophyll maximum). The relationship between CTD data and laboratory analysis indicated a moderate correlation (R² = 0.5081), suggesting that CTD has potential as an indicative monitoring tool after proper calibration.
