PENGARUH LAYANAN KONSELING KELOMPOK PENDEKATAN CLIENT CENTERED TERHADAP PENCEGAHAN TAWURAN DI SMA SRIJAYA NEGARA PALEMBANG
Student brawling is a form of adolescent deviant behavior that still occurs in schools and has negative impacts on safety, order, and students’ psychosocial development. This behavior is influenced by low self-control, inability to manage emotions, and social environmental factors. Therefore, preventive efforts through guidance and counseling services that are preventive and humanistic are needed. This study aims to determine the effect of group counseling services using the Client-Centered approach on the prevention of student brawling behavior at SMA Srijaya Negara Palembang. This research employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were students who had a tendency toward brawling behavior. The research instrument was a brawling prevention scale analyzed using statistical tests. The results showed an increase in the average score of brawling prevention from 55.63 in the pre-test to 63.00 in the post-test, with an improvement of 7.37 points or approximately 13.25%. In addition, the hypothesis testing result indicated a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, meaning that there is a significant effect of group counseling services using the Client-Centered approach on the prevention of student brawling behavior. In conclusion, group counseling services with the Client-Centered approach are proven to be effective in improving self-awareness, emotional control, and positive social attitudes as efforts to prevent student brawling
