This study aims to develop a hypercontent-based e-module integrated with socio-scientific issues related to additives and addictive substances. It also seeks to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the e-module in strengthening students’ scientific literacy at SMP Negeri 11 Bayung Lencir. This research used the ADDIE development model. Tessmer’s formative evaluation was also applied, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The instruments used were observation sheets, interview guides, needs analysis questionnaires, expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and pretest and posttest instruments. Data were analysed using quantitative and qualitative approaches. These included percentage analysis, the Likert scale, N-Gain calculations, and paired-samples t-tests. The results showed that the e-module was very valid, with validation scores of 98% from media experts, 88% from material experts, and 99% from language experts. The practicality level was very high, at 91,8%. The e-module's effectiveness was also high, with an N-Gain score of 0,73. The average student score increased from 51,2 in the pretest to 87,5 in the posttest. The paired-samples t-test also showed a significant increase. The most notable improvements were in scientific literacy indicators for interpreting data and scientific evidence and in using scientific information for decision-making. The hypercontent e-module containing socio-scientific issues that was developed was proven to be valid, practical, and effective in strengthening students' scientific literacy and can support contextual and meaningful learning.
