ANALISIS AKTIVITAS EKSPOR LIMBAH PAKAIAN INGGRIS RAYA TERHADAP PEREKONOMIAN INDONESIA DALAM PERSPEKTIF TEORI KETERGANTUNGAN (DEPENDENCY THEORY)

This study aims to assess the impact of clothing waste exports from the United Kingdom on the Indonesian economy using the Dependency Theory perspective. The method applied is descriptive qualitative through literature review and document analysis derived from official reports, international trade statistics, government policies, and relevant academic research. The findings of this study indicate that clothing waste imports play a role in creating economic dependence in Indonesia in the form of dependence in trade, unbalanced exchange, and economic structural deformation. This can be seen from the decline in the competitiveness of the domestic textile industry, the decline in local production, and increased pressure on labor in the textile sector. In addition to affecting economic aspects, this activity also has an impact on the environment and health due to the increasing amount of textile waste and the risks associated with the use of imported used clothing. Through analysis based on dependency theory, this study emphasizes that the trade in waste clothing reflects structural inequalities in the global economic system between developed and developing countries. Therefore, more decisive and sustainable policies are needed in the management of used clothing imports to protect the national economy.
