OPTIMASI DISTRIBUSI ARMADA PENGANGKUT SAMPAH MENGGUNAKAN METODE SAVING MATRIX DI KECAMATAN BATURAJA TIMUR KABUPATEN OGAN KOMERING ULU
The waste transportation system in Baturaja Timur District, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, still faces inefficiencies in route planning, resulting in increased travel distance, operational time, and imbalance in vehicle load distribution. This study aims to optimize the distribution of waste collection vehicles through route improvement using the Saving Matrix method (Clarke & Wright) within the framework of the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP). The data used include the coordinates of 69 Temporary Waste Collection Points (TPS), the location of the Final Disposal Site (TPA), vehicle trip frequency, estimated waste volume, and road network data processed using ArcMap to generate a distance matrix between points. The optimization process was carried out by calculating saving values, ranking the savings, constructing initial routes, and adjusting the routes based on vehicle capacity and trip patterns. The results show that the application of the Saving Matrix method reduces travel distance by 4.80%–15.38% and operational time by 3.98%–5.82% compared to the existing system. In addition, the optimized routes provide a more balanced load distribution and a more structured routing pattern in accordance with vehicle capacity constraints. Therefore, the Saving Matrix method can be considered an effective approach to improving the efficiency and operational performance of waste transportation systems in the study area.
