PENGARUH INTERVENSI MENDENGARKAN ASMR (AUTONOMOUS SENSORY MERIDIAN RESPONSE): GEMERCIK AIR TERHADAP TINGKAT KEPARAHAN INSOMNIA DAN STRES AKADEMIK PADA MAHASISWA KEPERAWATAN UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
Insomnia and academic stress are common issues experienced by university students, particularly nursing students who face substantial academic demands. These conditions may negatively affect physical health, psychological well-being, and academic performance. One potential non-pharmacological intervention to address these problems is listening to ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response), particularly natural sounds such as the soothing sound of flowing water. This study aims to examine the effect of listening to ASMR water flow sounds on the severity of insomnia and academic stress among nursing students at Sriwijaya University. This research employed a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 33 nursing students from the 2023 and 2024 cohorts, selected using purposive sampling techniques. The instruments used were the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) and the Perceived Academic Stress Scale (PASS). The results indicated a decrease in the severity of both insomnia and academic stress after the intervention. Prior to the intervention, the majority of respondents experienced mild insomnia (87.9%) and moderate academic stress (100%). Following the intervention, most respondents no longer experienced insomnia (72.7%), and all respondents were categorized as having mild academic stress (100%). The marginal homogeneity test showed a p-value of 0.001, indicating a statistically significant difference between pre- and post-intervention conditions. In conclusion, listening to ASMR water flow sounds has a significant effect in reducing the severity of insomnia and academic stress among nursing students. Therefore, it can be considered a simple, safe, and easily applicable non-pharmacological intervention.
