EFEKTIVITAS LAYANAN KLASIKAL DENGAN MEDIA FLIPBOOK UNTUK MENINGKATKAN REGULASI EMOSI SISWA DI SMP NEGERI 60 PALEMBANG
Emotion regulation is the ability of individuals to recognize, manage, and express emotions appropriately, both positive and negative emotions. This ability is important for students because it influences behavior, social relationships, and the learning process at school. However, there are still students who experience difficulties in controlling negative emotions, so guidance and counseling services that are interesting and easy to understand are needed. One alternative service that can be used is classical guidance using flipbook media, which can present material visually, interactively, and attractively for students. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of classical guidance services using flipbook media in improving students’ emotion regulation at SMP Negeri 60 Palembang and to describe changes in students’ emotion regulation levels after participating in the service. This study used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one group pretest–posttest design. The research subjects were 39 students of class VIII.5 selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using an emotion regulation scale that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that after participating in classical guidance services using flipbook media, students’ emotion regulation improved, which was indicated by a shift in emotion regulation levels from low and moderate categories to higher categories. These findings indicate that classical guidance services using flipbook media can be an effective alternative counseling service to help students manage their emotions better in the school environment.
