PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA VIDEO ANIMASI MEMBENTUK KARAKTER POSITIF UNTUK SISWA DI SMA 2 PALEMBANG
This study aims to develop an animated video media to foster positive character among students at SMA Negeri 2 Palembang, motivated by the persistence of negative behaviors such as bullying, the use of inappropriate language, and truancy. This study employed the ADDIE development model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The analysis stage identified students’ character needs, including discipline, responsibility, and empathy, while the design stage produced a storyboard based on local context. The development stage resulted in an animated video that was subsequently validated by experts in content, media, and language. The findings indicate that the developed media is categorized as highly feasible, practical, and effective. Student responses were predominantly in the very good category, with the highest achievement in character awareness and the lowest in language-related empathy. The animated video media is considered capable of supporting the development of positive character through engaging and easily understandable presentation. These findings reinforce the use of animation-based media as an alternative for character education that is contextual, communicative, and relevant to students’ daily experiences in school.
