ANALISIS PERAN JAPAN INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AGENCY PADA “PROJECT ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHT PROTECTION AND LEGAL CONSISTENCY FOR IMPROVING BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT”

This study aims to analyze the role of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in strengthening Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) protection and legal consistency in Indonesia through the project “Project on Intellectual Property Right Protection and Legal Consistency for Improving Business Environment.” The research is motivated by the high level of IPR violations in Indonesia, such as counterfeit goods circulation and copyright disputes, which negatively affect the investment climate and legal certainty. Using the framework of International Development Cooperation and Official Development Assistance (ODA), and employing a descriptive qualitative method through literature review and documentation, the findings indicate that JICA plays a role as a facilitator and provider of technical assistance in regulatory harmonization, capacity building of law enforcement institutions such as the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP), and the alignment of Indonesia’s IPR protection standards with international standards in order to create a more stable and competitive business environment.
