HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN SOSIAL DENGAN PENERIMAAN DIRI PADA PENDERITA SYSTEMIC LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS (SLE) DI KOMUNITAS PERSATUAN LUPUS SUMATERA SELATAN

Putri, Nabila Pitriya - Personal Name;

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease with diverse physical and psychological impacts, making self-acceptance an important Faktor in patients’ quality of life. Social support, which includes emotional, instrumental, informational, and network support, plays a role in helping patients cope with chronic illness. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between social support and self-acceptance among SLE patients in the community of the South Sumatra Lupus Association. This study employed a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of 314 SLE patients registered with PLSS in January 2024, with a sample of 195 respondents. Data analysis techniques included univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analyses. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires. The study found a significant relationship between social support and self-acceptance among SLE patients, with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Respondents with high social support were 3.6 times more likely to have high self-acceptance compared to those with low social support (PR = 3.618; 95% CI: 1.989–6.582). No significant relationships were found between self-acceptance and age (p-value = 0.552), gender (p-value = 0.617), educational history (p-value = 1.000), family history of lupus (p-value = 0.795), or duration since lupus diagnosis (p-value = 1.000). Thus, social support is an important Faktor influencing self-acceptance among SLE patients in PLSS, whereas age, gender, education level, family history of lupus, and duration of diagnosis showed no significant associations. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening sosial support to improve self-acceptance and psychological well-being among SLE patients.
