PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) BERBANTUAN VIDEO ANIMASI TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA KELAS X PADA MATA PELAJARAN EKONOMI DI MAN 1 OGAN ILIR
This The development of 21st-century learning demands the implementation of innovative learning models and media to enhance students’ critical thinking skills in Economics learning. This study aims to examine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by animated video on students’ critical thinking skills in Economics subjects at MAN 1 Ogan Ilir. This research employed a quantitative method with an experimental approach using a Pre-Experimental Design, specifically the One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The population of this study consisted of all tenth-grade students at MAN 1 Ogan Ilir in the 2025/2026 academic year, with class X.3 selected as the sample, comprising 34 students. Data were collected using essay tests to measure students’ critical thinking skills before and after the treatment. The results showed that the mean pretest score was 70.88, categorized as moderate, while the mean posttest score was 87.01, categorized as high. The distribution of categories indicated that in the pretest, most students were in the low category (47%), whereas in the posttest, the majority were in the high (47%) and very high (29%) categories. Hypothesis testing using the paired sample t-test revealed that the calculated t-value (2.799) was greater than the t-table value (1.697), indicating that the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. This means that there is a significant effect of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by animated video on students’ critical thinking skills in Economics learning at MAN 1 Ogan Ilir. However, the achievement of the fifth indicator, namely identifying and developing logical solutions, was still relatively low and not yet optimal. Therefore, future research is recommended to pay closer attention to each indicator and to use more varied instruments in order to obtain more comprehensive results.
