KEMAMPUAN COMPUTATIONAL THINKING PESERTA DIDIK KELAS VIII DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL NUMERASI MATERI PERTIDAKSAMAAN LINEAR SATU VARIABEL
Computational Thinking (CT) skills are among the essential skills required in the 21st century. This study aims to describe the CT skills of eighth-grade students in solving numeracy problems related to single-variable linear inequalities. This is a descriptive study involving 29 eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Palembang. Data were collected through a written test consisting of numeracy problems developed based on four CT indicators: decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithms. Students’ written test answers were analyzed descriptively and grouped into three CT ability categories: high, moderate, and low. The results showed that the average score obtained by the students was 49.14, falling into the moderate category. Students with high CT abilities were able to apply all CT indicators well, while students in the moderate category demonstrated some indicators with a few errors. Students with low CT skills had difficulty identifying relevant information and formulating systematic solution steps. These findings indicate that students’ CT skills vary across categories and are reflected in their written problem-solving processes.
