OPTIMASI RUTE PENGANGKUTAN SAMPAH MENGGUNAKAN VEHICLE ROUTING PROBLEM (VRP) DI KECAMATAN BATURAJA BARAT DAN LUBUK BATANG KABUPATEN OGAN KOMERING ULU
The waste transportation system in Baturaja Barat and Lubuk Batang Districts, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency South Sumatra Province, is still inefficient. This is indicated by non-optimal routes, limited fleet availability, and a mismatch between vehicle capacity and waste volume. Under existing conditions, 45 temporary disposal sites (TPS) are served by two vehicles operating two trips per day; however, overloading occurs, indicating that the system performance is not yet optimal. This study aims to optimize waste collection routes using a Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) approach based on Network Analyst. The analysis considers vehicle capacity and road network characteristics to generate more efficient routes. The results show that VRP-based optimization can improve system performance. In the shortest-distance scenario, distance efficiency ranges from 1.44% to 1.73%, while time efficiency ranges from 4.13% to 11.37%. In the fastest-time scenario, distance efficiency ranges from 1.58% to 11.29%, and time efficiency ranges from 2.18% to 7.11%. In addition, the optimization results indicate the need for operational adjustments, particularly in trip scheduling, to better match service capacity. Thus, the VRP approach is proven to enhance the waste transportation system through route improvements and measurable adjustments in operational capacity.
