PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN MEDIA VIDEO EDUKASI TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN REMAJA TENTANG PENGELOLAAN SAMPAH DI DESA LUBUK SAKTI KABUPATEN OGAN ILIR

The problem of waste is an environmental issue that is increasing with the increase in population and community activity. Low public awareness of waste management demonstrates the importance of environmental education efforts, particularly for adolescents, the younger generation who play a crucial role in preserving the environment. This study aims to determine the effect of educational video media on adolescents' knowledge of waste management in Lubuk Sakti Village, Ogan Ilir Regency. This study used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method using a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, with 30 adolescent respondents. Data collection was conducted through knowledge tests administered before and after treatment using educational videos. The results showed that the average knowledge score of respondents increased from 61.07 in the pre-test to 79.93 in the post-test. The N-Gain analysis showed a value of 0.49, which is considered moderate. This indicates that the use of educational video media is quite effective in increasing adolescents' knowledge about waste management. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that educational video media be developed as a learning medium or for environmental outreach. Furthermore, future researchers are expected to expand their research with a broader scope and include other variables, such as attitudes and behaviors in waste management
